Session description:

Microsoft Project is a great tool for planning and tracking projects, the PMI methodology is a proven methodology for delivering projects, on goal, on schedule, and on budget. The last couple releases of MS Project have included functionality that facilitates aligning MS Project to the PMI Methodology.

This session focuses on using MS Project to implement the PMI Methodology, specifically, the following areas are covered:

  • Creating WBS Dictionaries
  • Using WBS Numbering
  • Using the Network View to facilitate Critical Path Analysis
  • Using Column filtering to focus on Critical Path Work Packages
  • Using MS Project to do EVM Analysis

The session will use MS Project 2010 but  techniques covered can be used in MS Project 2007
