A popular Microsoft Project file viewer now includes integration with Skype for Business. The enhancements in Seavus ProjectViewer version 15 are intended to make direct communication among project team members easier. The updates enable users to view the online status of other team members, access their contact cards and start an instant messaging session.

“Many times, project team miscommunication and a lack of clear task understanding has been a source of project delays and failures,” said Business Development Manager, Magdalena Jovanovska, in a press release. “This new release… brings enhanced collaboration features for the team members and thus lowers the project risk.”

The new version also accommodates the use of the multiple timeline view, enabling users to insert any task from the project plan in a timeline view and create their own timeline for emphasizing important tasks.

Updates to graphical reports accommodate filtering in resource usage and allow project teams to see a visualization of resource usage within the project plan.

The developer has also added improvements to the Team Planner View and to the Project Server 2013 version of the program.

A free trial edition of the software is available on the Seavus Project Viewer website here.
