Creating Quality Topics
- Use clear, descriptive titles that summarize your question or topic
- Choose the most appropriate category for your discussion
- Provide context and relevant details (team size, tools, methodologies)
- Search existing topics before posting to avoid duplicates
- Include screenshots, code samples, or examples when helpful
Writing Helpful Replies
- Read the entire topic before responding
- Stay on topic and add value to the discussion
- Cite sources when sharing information from external resources
- Be patient with beginners and explain concepts clearly
- Mark solved topics by selecting the best answer
Formatting Your Posts
- Break long posts into paragraphs for readability
- Use proper grammar and spelling (we understand it's not perfect!)
- Add images or attachments to illustrate your points
- Use markdown formatting when needed for code or emphasis
- Keep posts focused and concise
Prohibited Content
- Spam, advertising, or promotional content without permission
- Harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory language
- Personal attacks, insults, or hostile behavior
- Sharing pirated software, license keys, or copyrighted materials
- Off-topic political or religious discussions
- Impersonating others or creating fake accounts
- Posting private information (yours or others')
Poor Practices to Avoid
- Cross-posting the same content across multiple categories
- Bumping old topics without adding new information
- Writing in ALL CAPS or excessive formatting
- Posting inflammatory or provocative content
- Demanding immediate responses or special treatment
How We Handle Violations
Our moderation team works to maintain a safe, productive environment. Violations are handled on a case-by-case basis:
First Violation
Friendly warning and guidance
Repeated Issues
Temporary suspension (3-7 days)
Serious/Ongoing
Permanent ban from the community
Be specific in your questions
Include details about your environment, what you've tried, and what results you expected.
Share your solutions
When you solve a problem, share the solution to help others facing similar issues.
Give credit where due
Acknowledge helpful responses and mark solutions when your question is answered.
Update your profile
Add information about your role and experience to help others understand your context.
Engage regularly
Build your reputation by participating consistently and helping others.
