      Hi,

I have a project schedule where all of the 1st level tasks are a deliverable, and the secondary tasks for all of the deliverables is the same. For example:

      Deliverable 1
      – Perform technical review
      – Audit and re-draw images
      – Perform QA

      Deliverable 2
      – Perform technical review
      – Audit and re-draw images
      – Perform QA

Is it possible to customize the Resource Usage view so that the activities include the Parent task and Child task descriptions, as follows for example?

      Resource Name
      Deliverable 1 Perform technical review
      Deliverable 2 Perform technical review

Currently, the view only shows “Perform technical review”.

I hope that my question makes sense 😉 Thanks!

Hi Sheila. Your question is certainly valid and is very typical. There are a couple of options available. There is a field in the Resource Usage view called Task Summary Name that you can add in front of the task name. That’s probably your best easy option. Because I personally don’t like the real-estate that the extra field creates, I instead tend to include enough description on a task to make sure it is distinguishable from other tasks. Given your specific example above I would create tasks as D1-Perform technical review and D2-Perform technical review. Hope that helps…
