My company has a standard 9 hour work day (8 hrs standard rate, 1 hr overtime rate). How do I set up my resources across the whole project to calculate 1 hr of OT as standard?

Sabina, you need to do two things to setup a 9 hour/day calendar. (1) change the Standard calendar to a 9 hour workday (Project ribbon, Change Working Time, Select Standard calendar, go to the Work Weeks tab, select Monday-Friday and set the hours accordingly). (2) select the Options button on the bottom of that page and set the Default start/end times, Hours per day, and Hours per week to match. Hope that helps.

Thanks Larry! I’ve already incorporated that, but does that automatically calculate the 9th hour at the overtime rate for the hourly employees?

Good question, and yes it calculates it for every regular work hour. There is another field for Overtime Work that can be used if you want. It’s not the easiest solution to incorporate, but if you need it then you might want to start doing some research. Every hour that is entered as Work or Actual Work use the standard rate. Overtime is entered separately and not just a calculation of any hour over the regular work day. Hope that helps…
