Proejct Pro 2013 SP1 – Importing an Excel file returns an error

I cannot import an excel file when selecting both tasks and Assignments. Project returns an error message that the file cannot be openned. I can use the same file and import it into Project 2010 without a problem. Does anyone know if the file format requirements for Project Pro 2013 changed?

As part of the testing if I just select the Tasks and not assignments the Tasks import OK. If I run the import wizard again and select just Assignments and merge the data and then in the data mapping screen select the Task name as the merge Key the assignments import correctly with one exception….If there is more than one assignment for the task the, only the 1st assignment is imported.
