Master schedule – Group-by

A need flagged tasks from sub-projects grouped together by month in one list. But, Group-by is missing sub-project tasks and group-by Interval is greyed out. Opening the resource pool alone doesn’t de-consolidate tasks into a single schedule where Group-by would work. Do I need a macro to assemble a de-consolidated schedule? How could I get or make such a macro, if needed?

I can at least get you started. Try this to add subprojects into a single set of tasks. When you insert the project, on that insert project selection window, deselect the Link to Project checkbox. That will insert the tasks into your project as part of the project itself. Then you can do what you want with it being a single project. You will need to rebuild your temporary master project each time but hopefully better than not having a solution at all. Good luck…
