Hi All Project 2016 Question

Most plant shutdowns using MS project schedule time in small increments, mainly hours.
Some tasks overlap, day and night shifts.
Resources calendars are created for day shift 0600 to 1800 and night shift 0000 to 0600/1800 to 0000.
When a task overlaps both shifts DS and NS, there are issues when 2 resources are assigned to task with independent resource calendars.
Is there a recommended method to ensure tasks continue and float isn’t introduced
I’ve tried the three task types units/work/duration and effort driven options
