Using a Resource Pool and Master Project file

Hello All,

I need some advise on how to report resource usage. I am wondering what the best approach would be to get an overall resource usage report by day out of my project files. I am using MSOP 2010 Pro. We are not using the server version. I have resource that are used across all projects and need a consolidated report showing daily usage by resource. I am new to 2010 and have not used the visual reports from 2007. My thoughts are to use a resource pool and master file. Questions are can I run a combined report from the master with linked files? Would like to get this report in excel as all the managers that need this information are not MSOP users. I am looking to generate something similar to the who does what when report but need the ability to edit/redline in excel.
