Problem building cube in Project 2010

Hi There,

I have an issue with a cube build which I am finding difficult to solve, even after a good search on the internet. The nearest I can find is the following post;

Just to be clear the error I get is;

Errors in the high-level relational engine. A connection could not be made to the data source with the DataSourceID of ‘Project Reporting data source’, Name of ‘Project Reporting data source’

I have tried to add the Alias to SQL Configuration manager for port 2383 in both the 32 and 64 bit sections, yet I still cannot connect to Analysis Services using the SQL Alias NOR build the project server cube.

I am totally stumped, can anyone help?

The odd thing is, I create an Alias on another domain and try and connect to Analysis Services and it connects ok – I dont even need to go near the Configuration Manager to add an alias?
