“Contacting the server for information” when opening from SharePoint

If I move my master project and sub-projects over to my employer’s SharePoint server I’m unable to open them. I get a never-ending dialog box which displays “contacting the server for information”. Has anyone dealt with this before?

I’ve succeeded with this periodically, but 90% of the time it fails.

Hi Dan, I am assuming you are using MSP Pro client to try? Since the “Can’t say master project anymore” and associated sub-project locations are coded into the project, that’s what I would check first, if you can get the main file to open again, you can bring up the link info and check it. But the 10% success rate may indicate something else, perhaps a slow connection or malfunctioning server on the host side. Well, there’s two ideas… best, Jigs
